Trade Classes

The California-Nevada J.A.T.C. offers a variety of continuing education classes for our members.

Classes are offered to apprentice lineman, journeyman lineman, operators and groundmen working
for I.B.E.W. Local 47, 396 and 1245 signatory contractors under the Outside Line Agreement or is a
member of I.B.E.W. Local 47, 396 and 1245.

There are only a certain number of spaces available for each class.
To register for a class, you will need your union ticket number.
There is no fee for classes taken. Class availability is based on first come first serve basis.

OSHA 10 ET&D Class

The class is 2 days. You must attend both days to receive a completion card.

Class date:
Thursday, August 30, and Friday, August 31, 2018.
Time: 7:00 am
Deadline to register: 2:00pm - Wednesday, August 29, 2018.

Once completed, you will be issued a completion card by OSHA within approximately 4 weeks.

First Aid/CPR Training Classes

The classes are offered every second Saturday of the month at both our Riverside
and Sacramento locations. (except July)

CPR Course:
This course will cover the essential steps of basic CPR and AED procedures.
After completion of this course, the participant will be issued a card and certified in CPR and AED
procedures for one year.

First Aid Course:
This course prepares the participants in basic first aid training.
After the completion of this course the participant will be issued a card and certified in first aid for three years.

Crane Certifying Course

The California-Nevada J.A.T.C. will be offering the following crane certifying courses and written tests.


The Electrical Industry Certifications Association (EICA) process is made up into two parts, a written test and a practical test.
This EICA class will not teach you how to operate a crane.

It is only to prepare you for the EICA written and practical test to obtain certification.
The class is 3 days of interactive lecture with a large amount of self study on OSHA and ASME standards.
The written test is given on the 4th day by an independent proctor.

EICA CRANE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE BEFORE THE REGISTRATION DATES.
AFTER THE REGISTRATION BEGINS, ALL CRANE APPLICATIONS WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE ON-LINE
FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE.

DO NOT send your application directly to EICA.

There are only twenty four (24) spaces available for each crane class and all training and *test costs are paid by the
California-Nevada J.A.T.C.
Class availability is based on first come first serve basis.
You are NOT registered in the class until your
completed application is received by our office and your spot is confirmed
.

Any individuals signing up for class should have prior operating experience.

The class is offered to apprentice lineman, journeyman lineman and operators working for
I.B.E.W. Local 47, 396 and 1245 signatory contractors under the Outside Line Agreement.

Please note: The class is offered only to those members who are currently working out of
or is a member of I.B.E.W. Local 47, 396 and 1245.

Priority is given to members of I.B.E.W. Local 47, 396 and 1245.
